We are excited to announce that our photo “Simply Love” was selected as finalist in Photocon Hawaii “Essence of People of Hawaii” photography competition! 

It will be in a photo gallery display until the end of December 2019 in Kahala Mall at PicturesPlus. Then this gallery featuring other amazing photos by talented Hawaii photographers will move to the Outrigger Beachcomber hotel in Waikiki where it will be on display in January 2020.

Finally the gallery will travel 300 miles all the way to the Big Island where it will be on display at Kahilu Theater in Waimea.

This photo was truly a family effort with my wife Diana Yushin capturing the sweet moment of me holding our 2 week old newborn daughter Kiana, literally 6 feet from where she was born!

When I saw a unique light pattern coming through the wire mesh of our screen door I knew we had to take these shots right away. I set the camera settings just right, so this photo is completely raw, natural, unedited, and candid!

I’m really happy that the judges recognized the unique qualities of this photo.
